Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Jharkhand Congress’ X (previously referred to as Twitter) handle has been withheld in India by the social media platform, in response to a legal demand after a ‘deepfake morphed video’ of Union Home Minister Amit Shah was posted on its handle.
On Sunday, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell registered an FIR after the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), which is underneath the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), filed a grievance concerning the doctored video of Amit Shah the place his statements indicating a dedication to abolish quota for Muslims on non secular floor in Telangana had been modified to make it appear that he was advocating scrapping of all reservations.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur was summoned by the Delhi Police on May 2 in reference to its investigation into the doctored video of Amit Shah, a celebration spokesperson stated on Wednesday.
Thakur has been requested to be part of the investigation on the Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) workplace in reference to an FIR registered on April 28 by its Special Cell, he stated.
“I received the notice from the Delhi Police on Tuesday. But, it is beyond my understanding why the notice was served to me. This is nothing but anarchy,” Thakur stated.
“If there may be any grievance, they need to first confirm the content material on my X account. The election marketing campaign is at its peak and my involvement in the marketing campaign might be understood.
In such a state of affairs, they’ve sought my laptop computer and different digital devices. Sending summons with out verifying the issues will not be applicable,” he added.
Thakur stated he has sought legal opinion on the problem.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah has stated the Bharatiya Janata Party won’t ever dispose of reservations for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Class, nor will it enable the Congress to achieve this.
