A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed whereas two others have been injured in an IED blast by CPI (Maoist) in a forest in West Singhbhum district, police mentioned.
The incident befell round 2.30 pm, as a staff of safety personnel have been conducting an anti-Maoist operation in Goilkera space, Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar informed PTI.
The injured jawans have been airlifted to a hospital in Ranchi, he mentioned. One of them succumbed to his accidents in the course of remedy, Shekhar mentioned.
Meanwhile, an ITBP jawan was killed in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in Gariaband, the place polling was held in the second section of the state meeting elections on Friday.
The incident befell close to Bade Gobra village when a polling staff, escorted by safety personnel, was returning after conducting voting, a senior police official mentioned. The Naxalites triggered a blast that left an ITBP personnel, recognized as Head Constable Joginder Singh, useless, he mentioned.
