The Joint Committee of Parliament inspecting the Personal Data Protection Bill was given an extension until the monsoon session to submit its report.
The JCP was constituted in Lok Sabha in December 2019 and was anticipated to submit its report within the finances session.
Meenakshi Lekhi of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) moved a movement searching for extension as much as the monsoon session of parliament for the 30-member panel to submit its report. Currently, there are two vacancies within the committee.

The panel has 19 members from Lok Sabha and 9 from Rajya Sabha at the moment.
The Personal Data Protection Bill seeks to manage using particular person data by the federal government and personal corporations.
So far the committee has held conferences with Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Google, Airtel, Jio, Ola, Uber, Google, Paytm amongst different corporations.
