JSW Energy Gets 700 MW Solar Project from SJVN – News18

Following the letter of award of 700 MW capability from SJVN Ltd, JSW Energy’s whole locked-in capability will increase to 11.0 Gigawatt (GW) comprising 1.4 GW of photo voltaic capability

JSW Energy on Tuesday mentioned it has bagged a 700 Megawatt (MW) photo voltaic challenge from state-owned SJVN. The challenge has been secured by its subsidiary JSW Neo Energy Ltd (JSW Neo) towards a tariff-based mostly aggressive bid invited for organising of 1,500 MW (Interstate Transmission System) ISTS-related solar energy initiatives, JSW Energy mentioned in an alternate submitting.

Following the letter of award (LoA) of 700 MW capability from SJVN Ltd, the corporate’s whole locked-in capability elevated to 11.0 Gigawatt (GW) comprising 1.4 GW of photo voltaic capability, it mentioned.

The challenge is required to provide energy of full contracted capability inside 24 months from the efficient date of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Further, JSW Energy mentioned it has a complete locked-in technology capability of 11.0 GW, which incorporates 7.2 GW in operation, 2.6 GW beneath development in wind, thermal, and hydro, and LoAs for 1.2 GW capability from SECI (Tranche – XVI) and SJVN.

In addition, the corporate has 3.4 GWh of locked-in power storage capability via a battery power storage system and hydro-pumped storage challenge.

The firm expects to have 9.8 GW of operational technology capability by CY2024, up from the present operational capability of seven.2 GW.

JSW Energy has set an formidable goal for a 50 per cent discount in carbon footprint by 2030 and reaching Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
