Kamaal Rashid Khan’s Bail Plea Hearing Adjourned to Monday

Actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly generally known as KRK, will keep in jail within the controversial tweets case for now as listening to on his bail plea was adjourned to Monday. He was held from Mumbai airport late night time on August 29 for allegedly tweeting about actor Akshay Kumar and producer-director Ram Gopal Varma in 2020.

His bail plea was to be heard on Friday within the metropolitan Justice of the Peace’s courtroom in Borivali but it surely was adjourned for Monday because the decide is on go away, Khan’s lawyer Jay Yadav mentioned. While police have mentioned his tweets have been communal and focused Bollywood personalities, Khan, in his bail plea moved by advocate Ashok Sarogi, has claimed his tweets have been solely feedback on the movie ‘Laxmi Bomb’ (launched solely as Laxmi) and no offence was meant.

His plea has mentioned Khan was appearing as a “critic and/or reporter in the film industry”. He has been charged below Indian Penal Code sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to trigger riot) and 500 (punishment for defamation), and provisions of the Information Technology Act.

Earlier, KRK was taken to a hospital in Mumbai after he suffered chest ache following his arrest on Tuesday morning. KRK was despatched to a 14-day judicial custody by Borivali courtroom after his arrest over derogatory tweets.

Recently, KRK grabbed the headlines after he claimed actor Anushka Sharma was behind cricketer husband Virat Kohli’s “depression”. He wrote in a tweet that she should have “put in his head” that he’s depressed as a result of he’s the primary Indian cricketer to have made such a confession about his psychological well being. He deleted the tweet a while later after receiving an enormous backlash on social media.
