Announcing the relief bundle, Karnataka CM Yediyurappa advised reporters, “Our government had given financial packages to various sectors during the COVID first wave.”
“Despite that, as the current restrictions have affected the livelihood of those with unorganised sector and farmers, to mitigate its impact we are announcing a relief programme of more than Rs 1,250 crore,” PTI quoted him as saying.
Karnataka imposed an entire lockdown until May 24, because the COVID-19 instances continued to spike. The CM stated a call will probably be taken on extending the present lockdown quickly.
