Bengaluru: In a curious case from Karnataka, a doctor refused to wear a face mask whereas purchasing at a mall calling it a ‘silly rule’.
The man recognized as Dr Srinivas Kakkilaya was at the billing counter of a grocery retailer at a mall in Mangaluru when the shop supervisor and others requested him to placed on a face mask. The man was reminded that he’s required to wear a mask by legislation when getting into a public area.
Reportedly, the doctor refused to wear the mask and complained about “foolish rules”, the supervisor reminded him it is the legislation and identified that different clients and all his workers had their masks on too.
The whole incident was captured within the retailer’s safety digicam. The doctor is seen dismissing the pleas from one other buyer who was additionally sporting a mask.
The Karnataka Police has filed a case beneath the Pandemic Act after receiving a written grievance from the supervisor, who stated the doctor’s actions had put himself, his workers and different clients at danger.
