Everyone should abide by the High Court order, mentioned Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday, whereas talking to media individuals after attending the Business Advisory Committee assembly of the State Assembly.

Amid the continued hijab controversy, the High court on Monday had resumed listening to on the petition difficult carrying hijab in schools. 

The Karnataka High Court acknowledged that this choice comes below the ambit of article 25 and it’s not legally sustainable and in addition requested the media to be extra accountable.

After the High Court gave its last judgement, few incidents had been reported within the metropolis. 

Referring to the incidents, CM Bommai mentioned, “Schools up to the 10th standard have reopened today. A few incidents have been reported from various districts. A meeting would be convened to discuss the lacunae and standard operating procedures. School management, principals and the parents have the responsibility of obeying the High Court order. It will create a conducive atmosphere for the High Court to deliver its final judgement. We should maintain restraint till then.”

Karnataka pre-university, diploma schools to reopen

Meanwhile, the Karnataka authorities on Monday determined to reopen pre-university and diploma schools throughout the state, that had been shut resulting from hijab row, from February 16.

The choice was taken at a gathering chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, which was attended by Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh, Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan, and senior officers of the federal government.

“At the meeting, the current situation in the state was analysed. It was decided to reopen PU and Degree colleges from Wednesday,” Nagesh mentioned.

Speaking to reporters after the assembly, he mentioned the universities will reopen on the idea of the Karnataka High Court’s interim order.

“Wherever (in colleges) there are uniform related rules, it has to be strictly followed. Where a uniform is not there, the dress code will be decided. We will strictly follow the High Court order,” he added.

As protests for and in opposition to the hijab intensified in several components of Karnataka and turned violent in some locations, the federal government had declared a vacation for all excessive faculties and schools within the state for 3 days, from February 9, and it was subsequently prolonged as much as February 16.

However, the Karnataka High Court, in its interim order pending consideration of all petitions associated to the hijab row, final week had requested the state authorities to reopen instructional establishments and restrained all the scholars from carrying saffron shawls, scarves, hijab and any spiritual flag throughout the classroom.

Following the court order, the federal government had determined to renew courses for highschool college students as much as Class 10 from February 14, and for pre-university and diploma schools thereafter, and accordingly excessive faculties throughout the state reopened right this moment.

Expressing confidence that there will probably be no untoward incidents when schools reopen, Home Minister Jnanendra mentioned police are with instructional establishments and see to it that there is no such thing as a disturbance to peace.

Police officers are gathering data relating to how the row obtained escalated, and an investigation is on on this regard.
