Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: The Election Commission of India has introduced the Karnataka meeting polls schedule to be held in May this 12 months. The time period of the present meeting ends on May 24. There are 224 Assembly constituencies of which 36 are reserved for the SCs and 15 for the STs. While the election is prone to be a two-sided contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress, HD Kumaraswamy-led JDS might play spoilsport for each events on a major variety of seats. Addressing a press convention in New Delhi, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated the notification for the elections to the 224-member meeting might be issued on April 13 and the final date for submitting nomination papers might be April 20.Â
The Chief Election Commissioner stated the nomination papers might be scrutinised on April 21 and the final date for withdrawal of nominations might be April 24.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated the elections have been scheduled on a Wednesday, and never on a Monday or Friday, to encourage larger participation of voters.Â
Kumar stated that whereas the Election Commission have been focussing on curbing using muscle energy within the polls, this time, the larger problem for them is using cash energy within the elections.Â
According to the election fee, there are a complete of 5.21 crore voters within the state out of which 16,976 voters are aged above 100. The ECI will arrange over 58,000 polling stations. The whole electorates within the state are 5,21,73,579 crores of which males are 2.62 crores and females are 2.59 crores. The whole variety of 80 plus electors is 12.15 lakhs. It is a rise of 32 per cent from 2018. The variety of individuals with disabilities (PWDs) has elevated to five.55 lakhs. The first-time voters have elevated from 2018-19 by 9.17 lakhs in Karnataka. The common variety of electors per polling station involves 883. Â
There can be 240 mannequin polling stations which might be made eco-friendly and inexperienced cubicles. 100 cubicles can be managed purely by individuals with incapacity. The Karnataka Assembly at present has 119 MLAs of the ruling BJP, whereas Congress has 75 and its ally JD(S) has 28 seats.Â
