Karnataka Polls: Denied Ticket, Ex-Dy CM Laxman Savadi Quits BJP


New Delhi: A day after the ruling social gathering denied him a ticket to contest within the May 10 Assembly elections, former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi on Wednesday introduced his determination to resign from main membership of the BJP. Sitting MLA Mahesh Kumathalli was given ticket in Athani in Belagavi district. Savadi is a three-time MLA from Athani, however misplaced within the 2018 elections to Kumathalli (then within the Congress). “I have certainly taken a decision. I have decided to resign from the primary membership of the party,” Savadi, a BJP MLC, mentioned in a press convention.

He added that he’ll take a “strong decision” on Thursday night and can begin working from Friday. There is theory that he could be part of the Congress.

The BJP, aiming to return to energy in Karnataka with absolute majority, has set a goal of successful no less than 150 of the full 224 seats within the Assembly.
