New Delhi: In a shock transfer, hours earlier than the deadline for submitting nomination for the Assembly polls in Karnataka, Congress MP from Bangalore Rural D Ok Suresh on Thursday filed his papers from the Kanakapura section, from the place his elder brother and state chief D Ok Shivakumar is the get together’s candidate. There had additionally been hypothesis that as a “retaliatory measure” to BJP’s plan of fielding a powerful candidate in opposition to Shivakumar in Kanakapura, Suresh could also be fielded from the Padmanabhanagar section, the opposite seat from the place Ashoka is contesting. Shivakumar too had earlier hinted on this regard.

Cong Announces Final List Of Candidates For K’taka Polls

The Congress within the early hours on Thursday launched its sixth and closing record, asserting candidates for the remaining 5 constituencies for the May 10 Assembly polls in Karnataka. Today is the final day for submitting nominations. The Congress has nominated B V Rajeev Gowda from Sidlaghatta, changing sitting MLA V Muniyappa.

The different candidates introduced are: Mohammed Shalam for Raichur, S Anand Kumar from C V Raman Nagar, H P Sridhar Gowda from Arkalgud and Inayath Ali from Mangalore City North. With this, the Congress has fielded candidates for all of the 224 Assembly segments within the state.

The Congress on Wednesday evening had introduced its fifth record of three candidates, and had changed the candidate in opposition to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Shiggaon. A day after fielding Mohammed Yousuf Savanur as its candidate from Shiggaon in Haveri district, the get together nominated Yasir Ahmed Khan Phatan in his place.

The get together has fielded A C Srinivasa from Pulakeshinagar by denying a ticket to sitting MLA R Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, who on Wednesday filed nomination as an impartial candidate after it was clear that he won’t be re-nominated.
