Mangaluru: The sub-inspector at Gonibeedu police station in Chikkamagaluru district who’s accused of forcing a Dalit youth to drink urine whereas he was in custody has been suspended, mentioned the Mangaluru Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Sunday.

“The sub-inspector, at Gonibeedu Police Station in Chikkamagaluru district, accused of forcing a man to drink urine while he was in custody, has been suspended,” mentioned IGP, Mangaluru.

In a surprising incident, a Dalit youth from the Mudigere space of the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka was allegedly compelled to drink urine inside a police station. 

The incident occurred earlier this month in Gonibeedu Police Station close to Mudigere the place a sub-inspector allegedly abused a Dalit youth and compelled him to drink the urine of one other man throughout interrogation.

The matter got here to mild after the person named Puneet wrote to Karnatak DGP Praveen Sood and sought motion towards the sub-inspector and different policemen.

According to Puneet, he was taken to the police station on May 10 over the allegation by villagers that he was involved with a lady who had eloped with one other man. Earlier, a criticism was filed towards the sub-inspector and an investigation was underway.
