Asian boxing champion Kaur Singh, who fought an exhibition match with legendary Muhammad Ali, died in a hospital in Haryana’s Kurukshetra on Thursday. He was 74 and was present process therapy for a number of well being issues.

Singh bagged six gold medals in worldwide competitions, together with the 1982 Asian Games.

Singh had received the heavyweight boxing gold medal on the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi.

Expressing grief, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema mentioned, “Kaur Singh’s dying is an enormous loss to the nation. I’ve directed the officers involved to make preparations to convey his physique to his native village. We will lengthen all assist to the household.”
In recognition of his achievements, Kaur Singh was conferred with the Arjuna Award in 1982 and Padma Shri in 1983 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 1988.
