Leh and Kargil cities of the Ladakh Union Territory noticed a shutdown on April 17 in protest against the “controversial video” of the Dalai Lama, which went viral on social media, drawing criticism against the non secular chief on social media.
The Dalai Lama had apologised to a boy, his household and mates for the “hurt his words may have caused” after a video clip purportedly displaying the Tibetan non secular head asking him to “suck” his tongue sparked a row.

Led by the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), the protesters additionally condemned the “conspiracy to defame” the Dalai Lama and prolonged assist to him, requesting him to proceed spreading peace, love, and compassion.

“Entire Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh observed a shutdown. The people came to the streets to protest against the attempt to defame Dalai Lama Ji. We are hurt over it,” a social chief S. Samphel informed reporters.
