Lima To Host 2027 Pan-American Games, Second Time In Less Than A Decade

MIAMI: Lima was chosen Tuesday to host the 2027 Pan-American Games, the second time in lower than a decade that Peru’s capital will stage the most important multi-sports occasion within the Americas.

Lima, which hosted in 2019, obtained 28 of 40 votes from members of organizing physique Panam Sports to beat Paraguayan capital Asunción.

The 2027 version was initially scheduled for the Colombian metropolis of Barranquilla, which was eliminated as host due to monetary issues.

Peru plans use most of the venues from 5 years in the past to carry the Games. President Dina Boluarte has mentioned she helps Lima’s bid.
