Macron responded to the memers saying “some people compared the images of my visit to Brazil with those of a wedding, and I say to them: It was a wedding!” Macron’s heat relations with Lula mark a departure from the frosty ties between the French chief and Brazil’s former right-wing president Jair Bolsonaro. Macron is the primary French president to go to Brazil in 11 years and marks a thaw in bilateral ties after years of friction underneath Bolsonaro.
