Madhya Pradesh govt. orders closure of bars, liquor consumption won’t be allowed in stores

The Madhya Pradesh cupboard has determined to shut all of the bars working in the State, with the liquor retailers solely being allowed to promote liquor to the purchasers on the store. The transfer is alleged to be aimed toward discouraging liquor consumption.

Addressing a press convention, Narottam Mishra mentioned, “Since 2010, no new liquor shop has been closed in the State. Even during Narmada Seva Yatra, several shops were closed. This year also the liquor policy has been brought to discourage liquor consumption.

“Now, the cupboard has permitted the proposal to shut all of the bars working in the State. Now, the ability to drink on the store bars is being ended, and solely liquor will solely be offered on the liquor retailers,” he mentioned.

He mentioned that it has additionally been determined in the cupboard assembly that the provisions will be tightened towards the suspension of driving licenses of those that are caught drunk driving. The BJP chief added saying, “The distance of liquor shops from educational and religious institutions has also been increased from 50 to 100 meters. Along with this, strictness will also be increased on those who drive after drinking alcohol.”
