Three individuals died and two had been injured when their automotive fell off a bridge onto a transferring items practice between Karjat and Panvel railway stations in Maharashtra on early Tuesday morning, police stated.
The accident happened between 3.30 am and 4 am as the automotive was heading for Neral on Mumbai-Panvel street, stated an official of Panvel police station.
The deceased had been recognized as Dharmanand Gaikwad (41) and his cousins Mangesh Jadhav (46) and Niteen Jadhav (48).
Gaikwad was an activist of the Republican Party of India (RPI), the official stated, including that native police had been conducting additional probe.
The freight practice was heading from Panvel to Karjat in Raigad district and a few of its wagons acquired decoupled because of the incident, stated Dr Shivraj Manaspure, chief public relations officer of the Central Railway (CR).
The Panvel-Karjat part of the CR was closed because of the accident from 3.43 am to 7.32 am, he stated. Only one practice — 17317 Hubballi-Dadar Express — was diverted by means of the Karjat-Kalyan route because of the incident, he stated.
