Maharashtra to get 4.35 lakh Remdesivir vials by month-end from Centre, CM Thackeray thanks PM Modi

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday stated the state will get 4.35 lakh vials of Remdesivir for the interval between April 21 to April 30 from the Centre. 

He additionally thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for accepting the state’s demand to improve the availability.

Office of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in a tweet stated, “The Central Government today has approved a supply of 4,35,000 vials of Remdesivir to Maharashtra till April 30th. CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has thanked the Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi for accepting his request.”

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had drawn the eye of the Center to the issue created by the scarcity of Remdesivir within the state and had additionally requested the Prime Minister in a letter, as per an announcement from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

“Today, the Center has ordered to supply 4 lakh 35 thousand vials to the state till April 30. The Chief Minister has thanked the Prime Minister for this. This supply was earlier 2 lakh 69 thousand vials, now it has been increased to 4 lakh 35 thousand,” the assertion learn.

“As per the demand of the states across the country, the center will supply 16 lakh Remdesivir vials and seven licensed manufacturing companies have been asked to supply them as a priority,” the assertion added.

Maharashtra reported 67,160 new COVID-19 circumstances, and 676 deaths within the final 24 hours, in accordance to the State Health bulletin on Saturday night.
