Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi are all coming back to face law of the land, Sitharaman stated in the Rajya Sabha whereas replying to a debate on the insurance coverage modification invoice.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday stated that fugitive businessmen Vijaya Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are “coming back” to India” to face the law. The authorities is persuing extradition of Mallya and Modi from the UK whereas Choksi is believed to be in Antigua.

Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi are all coming back to face law of the land, Sitharaman stated in the Rajya Sabha whereas replying to a debate on the insurance coverage modification invoice.

Mallya, an accused in financial institution mortgage default case of over Rs 9,000 crore involving his defunct Kingfisher Airlines, is in the UK since March 2016.

Nirav Modi and his maternal uncle Choksi fled the nation allegedly after committing fraud in the general public sector lender Punjab National Bank.

In February 25, a UK courtroom ordered Nirav Modi’s extradition in reference to the Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) mortgage fraud case, after virtually a two-year-long authorized battle. Modi is accused of committing a fraud of USD 2 billion (round Rs 14,500 crore) in the PNB.
