Mamata Banerjee Bans Screening Of ‘The Kerala Story’ In West Bengal | India News


New Delhi: West Bengal authorities on Monday banned the screening of the Bollywood film ‘The Kerala Story’ within the state. Prohibiting the screening of the movie which has been a topic of controversies since its trailer was launched final month, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated the choice has been taken to keep away from incidents of hatred and violence within the state.

Criticizing the ruling celebration of Kerala, Banerjee stated it is vitally disappointing that CPIM is letting the cinemas play ‘The Kerala Story’ and termed the Bollywood movie a ‘distorted story’. CM Banerjee stated that as a substitute of the Trinamool Congress, it is the CPIM who ought to have been vital of the movie as they rule Kerala. She alleged that the CPIM is working in collusion with the BJP and thus permitting the screening of the movie.

Reacting to the ban, Vipul Shah, Producer of movie ‘The Kerala Story’ stated that if the state governments will not take heed to the film producers, they they are going to take authorized route.
