The Punjab Police on Tuesday stated it had arrested a person, who was dealing with greater than 100 instances in Punjab and had been absconding for 9 years, from Uttarakhand. Police stated Arora had been absconding for the final 8-9 years and had been declared a proclaimed offender.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gursharan Singh Sandhu stated the accused has 108 FIRs registered towards him in 21 districts for allegedly defrauding individuals by promising cash or plots to individuals within the state.

Of whole 108 FIRs, 47 have been registered in Fazilka, eight in Ferozepur, six every in Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib, 5 every in Rupnagar, Mohali and SAS Nagar; 4 every in Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Jalandhar Commissionerate.

Police stated Arora, who was arrested by the Fazilka Police in February 2016, had jumped bail and was declared a proclaimed offender in February 2017.

The Enforcement Directorate has additionally registered instances and connected his properties, whereas many writ petitions are pending within the Punjab and Haryana High Court towards him, stated the police.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ranjit Singh Dhillon stated the accused was utilizing pretend IDs to evade his arrest.

“The accused has more than 1,200 acres of land, and 200 residential flats in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh worth more than Rs 1,000 crore,” he stated.

The police nabbed Arora from Shri Nagar Garhwal within the Poudi district. The police additionally seized a luxurious automotive, cell phones and faux paperwork from his possession.
