Manipur Violence Fire Reaches Delhi As Kuki, Meitei Students Clash In DU | India News


New Delhi [India], May 6 (ANI): Even with stress reportedly deescalating in Manipur, violence reached Delhi with a gaggle of Kuki college students residing in Delhi University North Campus space alleging that they have been attacked by a gaggle of Meiteis on Thursday night time. The following day, on Friday, the scholars claimed they tried to register an FIR on the Maurice Nagar Police Station and when the police refused to file the grievance, the scholars staged a protest exterior the police station. State’s Director General of Police P Doungel has mentioned that the scenario the State has improved after the intervention of safety forces. Forces together with RAF, BSF, CRPF have been deployed in Manipur, he mentioned and that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) chief Kuldiep Singh, has been appointed because the safety advisor.

The State authorities has additionally appointed Additional Director-General of Police (Intelligence), Ashutosh Sinha as the general operational commander to regulate the scenario in Manipur, the State DGP mentioned. “As a result of the proactive and timely response, Churachandpur, KPI, Moreh and Kakching are now under firm control with no major violence since last night”, the Indian Army had mentioned in a press release on May 5 night.

The Army mentioned that scenario in Manipur has been introduced beneath management by way of coordinated actions by all stakeholders. “The situation has been brought under control through coordinated actions by all stakeholders. IAF undertook continuous sorties from two airfields in Assam employing C17 Globemaster and AN 32 aircraft,” Indian Army had said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reviewed the scenario in Manipur by way of a video convention assembly with state Chief Minister N Biren Singh and prime officers within the state in addition to the Centre.
