The violence in Manipur shouldn’t be dying down with clashes going down after each few days. Last evening, a mob of 300-400 folks tried to storm the workplace of the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Churachandpur resulting in a conflict with safety forces. The Manipur Police, in an announcement to X, stated that the mob threw stones and engaged in different violent actions in an try and breach the SP’s workplace. After the clashes, web providers have been suspended within the Churachandpur district for the subsequent 5 days.
“Mob numbering approx. 300–400 attempted to storm the office of SP CCP today, pelting stones, etc. The SF, including the RAF, is responding appropriately by firing tear gas shells to control the situation. Things are under watch,” stated the police. The police stated that to disperse the mob and management the scenario, the safety forces, together with the Rapid Action Force (RAF) had to make use of tear gasoline shells.
