Mehul Choksi Was Kidnapped & Brought To Dominica, Claims Fugitive Businessman’s Lawyer

New Delhi: The Dominica authorities will ship Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi again to Antigua and Barbuda. Prime Minister Geston Brown informed ABP News that he has obtained data relating to this.

Choksi had gone lacking from Antigua and Barbuda for 3 days. The businessman was captured on Tuesday evening (native time) after an Interpol Yellow Notice was issued by Antigua and Barbuda.

Meanwhile, Mehul Choksi’s lawyer Marsh Wayne in Dominica informed ABP News that he met the Geetanjali Group Chairman on the police station this morning. According to the lawyer, Mehul claims that he was kidnapped and delivered to Dominica. There are claims relating to assault as effectively.

His attorneys are submitting appeals within the courtroom for reduction within the case. 

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Brownlee was reported to have requested Dominica handy over Mehul Choksi on to India.

Choksi was caught throughout a manhunt that was launched after he went lacking on Sunday. Local authorities had knowledgeable that they had been collaborating with the Indian authorities, neighbouring international locations, and worldwide police organisation to try to find Choksi.

After the information of Choksi’s arrest in Dominica on Tuesday evening, Brownie informed the media that he had given clear directions to officers for deporting Choksi to India.

“Browne has asked that officials in Dominica make Choksi persona non grata and have him deported directly to India,” the Antigua Observor reported.

Choksi, an accused within the Rs 13,500 crore PNB fraud case alongside along with his nephew Nirav Modi, has been residing in Antigua and Barbuda since January 4, 2018.

The CBI and ED have filed separate chargesheets within the case and are attempting for the extradition of Choksi.
