A mid-air wedding in the presence of visitors and family members came about inside a SpiceJet chartered flight on May 23 morning whereby COVID-19 social distancing norms had been violated, sources mentioned on Monday. A senior official of aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) mentioned that the flight crew has been off-rostered for not imposing the social distancing norms onboard.
SpiceJet has been directed to lodge a grievance with related authorities towards these individuals who didn’t observe the COVID-19 norms contained in the flight, the official mentioned.

The approval for this flight was taken as a joy ride for the wedding group.”
