The Mizoram authorities has reimposed a seven-day full lockdown in Aizawl Municipal Corporation area in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases, over two weeks after easing restrictions, officers stated. The shutdown will likely be in power from July 18 until the midnight of July 24, an official order stated.
Lockdown or different stringent restrictions could also be imposed in different elements of the state by deputy commissioners relying on the coronavirus scenario, it stated. The Mizoram authorities had eased restrictions in the AMC area from June 30.
The order stated the trajectory of constructive cases continues to rise with the each day common of latest infections rising steadily from 55 in April to 202 in May to 381 in the primary fortnight of July.
With nearly all of recent cases being reported from the AMC area, the imposition of total lockdown is critical to curtail an extra surge, it stated.
Only important providers together with water and electrical energy, healthcare and LPG distribution will operate, the notification stated. All retailers will likely be closed in the AMC area besides these coping with important commodities, it added.
