MSP Hike News: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Wednesday stated that the Modi authorities is dedicated to double the revenue of farmers as he introduced a hike within the minimal assist value (MSP) for paddy and other kharif crops. The MSP for paddy has been hiked by Rs 72 per quintal to Rs 1,940 per quintal for the 2021-22 crop 12 months.
Briefing reporters after the Cabinet assembly, Tomar once more dispelled apprehensions about MSP saying, “MSP (on farm crops) is there, is being hiked and will continue in future as well”.
MSP has been elevated often and its profit is reaching farmers, he stated.
The determination taken by the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will assist farmers take a name on which kharif (summer time) crop to develop as sowing picks with the unfold of the Southwest monsoon.
The Cabinet has accepted a rise within the MSP of paddy (frequent selection) to Rs 1,940 per quintal for the 2021-22 crop 12 months (July-June) from Rs 1,868 per quintal within the year-ago interval.

Similarly, the MSP of Bajra has been elevated to Rs 2,250 per quintal for the present 12 months from Rs 2,150 per quintal final 12 months, Tomar stated.
Paddy is the primary kharif crop, the sowing of which has begun with the onset of the Southwest monsoon. The Met Department has projected a standard monsoon for the June-September interval.
