Mumbai Congress chief, party workers booked for flouting COVID norms

Mumbai: Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) president Ashok alias Bhai Jagtap and over 40 different party workers have been booked for flouting COVID norms.

The Congress chief and his supporters have been staging a protest in opposition to the gas value hike in suburban Goregaon on Saturday (June 12).

Jagtap and others had gathered on the SV Road Junction in violation of the rules. The native police stated a few of the protestors weren’t sporting the face masks.

The Congress workers raised slogans in opposition to the central authorities over the rise within the costs of petrol and diesel.

A case was registered underneath sections 188 (Disobeying the order of public servant) and 269 (negligent act prone to unfold an infection) of the IPC and the Maharashtra Police Act. There have been no arrests to this point.
