Mumbai Indians launched their new jersey forward of the 2024 version of the IPL in collaboration with their new equipment producer Skechers. The jersey had the standard royal blue color on the centre with golden stripes on the shoulder and the perimeters of the shirt. After falling on the Qualifier 2 hurdle within the final season, the five-time champions Mumbai Indians can be hoping to go all the best way this time round beneath new skipper Hardik Pandya.
“As our gamers don the enduring blue and gold jersey colors, they carry with them the hopes and desires of our MI Paltan, fuelled by the spirit of ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’. The jersey is a badge of honour, an emblem of delight for all who put on it, as they get to precise their love for the crew whereas carrying with them a chunk of its illustrious legacy,” MI spokesperson stated on the launch of the brand new equipment.
Designer Monisha Jaising stated, “The spirit of Mumbai & MI has always been a force to be reckoned with, and it lies in the relentless energy, diversity, undying optimism, the heart and the hard work that drives its favourite team and fans. It is this very essence that I have tried to capture in the design, inspiring both players and fans, knowing that they carry with them the heart of Mumbai and Mumbai Indians.”
Mumbai Indians will kick off their IPL 2024 marketing campaign towards the Gujarat Titans, the erstwhile franchise of their new skipper Hardik on Sunday, March 24 in Ahmedabad. MI can have the additions of Hardik and Jasprit Bumrah into the final 12 months’s line-up whereas the five-time champions have bought the likes of Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka and Mohammad Nabi to plug the holes because the squad seems distinctive on paper.
