Narada Sting Case: No Relief For TMC Leaders, HC To Hear Bail Plea On Thursday

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court will on Thursday proceed its listening to within the Narada sting case by which 4 Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders have been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

This because the listening to of the CBI plea to switch the case to some other state remained inconclusive within the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday.

The accused will stay within the CBI custody until Wednesday. All 4 arrested have been moved to particular cells in Presidency Jail in Kolkata

The Calcutta High Court had earlier issued a keep order on the bail of the 4 leaders – West Bengal ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former Kolkata mayor Sovan Chatterjee – arrested in reference to the case

Earlier on Monday, the Bankshall Court had granted bail to the 4 TMC leaders.

The arrests on Monday sparked large protests exterior the CBI workplace and the Raj Bhawan in Kolkata.

The protestors demanded quick launch of the 4 arrested and raised slogans in opposition to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the Centre and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar.

The 4 have been arrested for allegedly “demanding and accepting illegal gratification to show favour to a private person who was posing as a representative of a fictitious company”. The alleged act was captured on digicam.
