Similarly, the Madras High Court Legal Services Committee led by its chairman Justice R. Mahadevan constituted 4 benches on the principal seat of the High Court in Chennai and three extra Lok Adalat benches on the Madurai Bench of the High Court. One further bench was constituted on the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
The seven Lok Adalat benches in the High Court had been presided over by sitting judges of the courtroom. They, together with the district and taluk stage benches, ended up settling 55,779 pre-litigation cases resulting in an award quantity of ₹311.60 crore and 24,876 pending cases resulting in an award quantity of ₹110.10 crore.
