Mumbai: Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has filed a defamation go well with in the Bombay High Court in search of Rs 100 crore damages from his former spouse Aaliya alias Zainab Siddiqui and his brother Shamasuddin Siddiqui accusing them of creating defamatory and false statements in opposition to him.
The go well with is more likely to be heard on March 30 by a single bench of Justice Riyaz Chagla. The actor, embroiled in a matrimonial dispute along with his former spouse, requested the HC to completely restrain Aaliya and his brother from making any statements or remarks that may defame him.
He additionally sought a written apology from his former spouse and brother. As per the go well with, Nawazuddin had appointed Shamasuddin as his supervisor in 2008 and blindly assigned all monetary work to him.
However, Shamasuddin began dishonest and defrauding Nawazuddin and bought properties utilizing the actor’s cash, the go well with alleged. It added that when the actor learnt in regards to the fraud and raised queries, Shamasuddin instigated Aaliya to file a false case in opposition to Nawazuddin.
The actor claimed Aaliya and Shamsuddin have misappropriated Rs 21 crore from him. When Nawazuddin demanded that properties be returned to him, Shamasuddin and Aaliya joined palms and began blackmailing the actor by importing “cheap videos and comments on social media”, the go well with stated.
