India’s high girl wrestler Vinesh Phogat is glad along with her preparation for the Tokyo Olympics which begin on July 23.

“I’m heading in the right direction however want to make minor changes in coaching to be absolutely match when the principle occasion takes place in July,” said the 26-year-old wrestler.

Since January, Vinesh has participated in three international competitions. She noted that recovery is an issue that needs to be tackled.

“After weight-loss, the body and mind doesn’t function properly. It is important for me to learn how to tackle this issue in the coming days,” she stated.

Vinesh was anticipating good competitors within the Asian Wrestling Championships that concluded just lately in Almaty. However, high wrestling nations like China, Japan and Korea withdrew due to suspected Covid-19 instances of their respective groups.

Vinesh said she will be travelling to Europe next week for training. “As of now, there is no restriction on visitors from India. I will be going to Bulgaria and Poland. But if there is any travel restriction we will tackle it,” she stated.

The worldwide wrestler from Haryana is protecting herself focussed on coaching, and issues similar to postponement of Tokyo Olympics due to surge in Covid-19 instances for the second time, shouldn’t be on her thoughts.

“The Tokyo Olympics won’t be the top of wrestling for me. I’ll proceed to practice and compete so long as I can,” she added.
