Net direct tax collection to date this fiscal grew 17% to achieve ₹13.73 lakh crore, which is 83% of the revised goal for the total monetary 12 months, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) mentioned on March 11.
The progress in direct tax mop-up, which contains private earnings tax and company taxes, was pushed by PIT collections.
On a gross foundation, the collection grew 22.58% to ₹16.68 lakh crore.
Refunds amounting to ₹2.95 lakh crore have been issued throughout April 1, 2022 to March 10, 2023, that are 59.44% larger than refunds issued throughout the identical interval within the previous 12 months.
Direct tax collection, internet of refunds, stands at ₹13.73 lakh crore which is 16.78% larger than the online collections for the corresponding interval of final 12 months.
This collection is 96.67% of the whole finances estimates and 83.19% of the whole revised estimates of direct taxes for the monetary 12 months 2022-23, the CBDT mentioned in a press release.
After adjustment of refunds, the online progress in CIT (Corporate Income Tax) collections is 13.62% and that in PIT (Personal Income Tax) collections together with STT (Securities Transaction Tax) is 20.06%, it mentioned.
