In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one other Popular Front of India (PFI) member who was wished in the grotesque homicide of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Srinivasan in Kerala’s Palakkad district in April final 12 months. 

The accused, Saheer KV, was absconding because the crime and was carrying a reward of Rs 4,00,000. An NIA Fugitive Tracking Team (FTT) tracked him to a relative’s home in Palakkad district and arrested him.

A resident of Palakkad, Saheer was half of the PFI Assault and Protection Team that had carried out the focused killing. Saheer was additionally answerable for offering safety to the principle assailants of Srinivasan. NIA investigations confirmed that the accused, who was PFI’s Pattambi Area President, was concerned in numerous conspiracies of the PFI leaders to get rid of Srinivasan, as half of the banned outfit’s greater scheme to create terror amongst members of a specific group and to ascertain Islamic Rule in India by 2047.

Earlier on March 17, the NIA filed a chargesheet in opposition to 59 accused, together with the PFI as an organisation in the case. One of these accused, recognized as Abdul Naser, died on January 2 this 12 months, mentioned the NIA, including “Efforts are on to track and trace the remaining 11 absconding accused, out of the total of 59 identified as involved in the conspiracy so far.”
