NIA files chargesheet against suspects in Shivamogga ISIS conspiracy case – India TV

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against an extra accused in the Shivamogga ISIS conspiracy case, associated to the creation of graffiti in Mangaluru supporting proscribed terrorist organizations corresponding to ISIS and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in line with an official assertion on Friday.

In its supplementary chargesheet, the NIA included Arafath Ali, together with charging Mohammed Shariq and Maaz Muneer Ahmed, in the case registered in 2022.

Ali, apprehended on the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi upon his return from Kenya on September 14 final 12 months, allegedly radicalized and recruited different suspects to create the graffiti in January 2020.

According to an NIA spokesperson, Ali fled to Dubai earlier to evade arrest in reference to one other case, the Al-Hind module case, attributable to his affiliation with two absconding suspects – Abdul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazeb.

Investigations revealed that Ali indoctrinated Shariq, Ahmed, and others underneath the directions of Taha and Shazeb to create graffiti supporting ISIS, LeT, and the Taliban in Mangaluru.

The NIA alleges that Ali, in collaboration together with his associates and on-line handler, was concerned in a broader conspiracy to advance the terrorist actions of ISIS. He purportedly compensated the graffiti creators with funds obtained from his on-line handler in the type of cryptocurrencies.

Previously, the NIA had filed a predominant and supplementary chargesheet against 9 accused people, together with Shariq and Ahmed.

The investigation into the case stays ongoing, acknowledged the official.
