Chandigarh: As energetic COVID-19 cases in the state surge, with day by day positivity fee climbing to over 5 p.c, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday (March 18) extended the night time curfew in 9 worst hit districts by two hours day by day, by advancing it from 9 p.m. onwards.
While making the announcement, he clarified that, if required, he would go for extra stringent measures to restrict its unfold in the times to come.
The 9 districts the place the night time curfew has been extended have been Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Mohali, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and Ropar, all day by day getting 100 plus constructive cases.
These 9 districts earlier imposed night time curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., whereas different districts have been requested to assess the scenario and take motion accordingly.
