Parliament Winter Session: At least 9 more Lok Sabha MPs belonging to totally different events have been suspended for ‘unruly conduct’ contained in the House. The lawmakers have been suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session of the Parliament.Â
Who are the 9 MPs suspended from Parliament?
The Opposition Lok Sabha MPs who’ve been suspended embody 4 from Congress, two every from CPI, DMK, and one from CPI(M). The 4 Congress MPs embody Benny Behanan, VK Sreekandan, Mohammad Jawed and Manickam Tagore. Behanan and Sreekandan are representing the Chalakudy and Palakkad Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala whereas Mohammad Jawed is representing Bihar’s Kishanganj and Manickam Tagore is MP from Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar.
Two Communist Party of India (CPI) MPs from Tamil Nadu PR Natarajan and Ok Subbarayan have additionally been suspended. Natarajan is representing the Coimbatore constituency whereas Subbarayan is an MP from Tiruppur.
Two Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MPs Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and SR Parthiban are representing Thoothukkudi and Salem in Tamil Nadu.
S Venkatesan of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) received the 2019 Lok Sabha Election from Tamil Nadu’s Madurai.
Earlier at the moment, 6 MPs had been suspended for the remainder of the Winter Session over inappropriate behaviour. Five of them belong to Congress and one is from Trinamool Congress (TMC).
A complete of 15 MPs — 14 from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha — have been suspended.
DMK and Congress react
Speaking on her suspension from Lok Sabha, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi mentioned, “There is an MP who has actually given the passes for these (accused of Parliament security breach) people to come in. No action has been taken against that MP. Whereas we saw what happened in Mahua’s case. Without even the inquiry being complete, she has been disqualified and this MP is not even suspended. He’s inside Parliament with us. And when we protested and we want the PM and the Home Minister to come and give a statement in the House, they’re not prepared to do that. And when we protested, they are suspending all the opposition MPs. First suspended five, then they suspended nine people. So how is this democracy?”
Reacting to this growth, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram mentioned, “What happened yesterday was a colossal security and intelligence failure. We want the government to come and inform the House on what happened yesterday and what are the steps that they are taking. The government is adamant about not coming, either the PM or HM should make a statement… Just because we demanded and protested, in order to stifle our voice, about 15 odd MPs have been suspended for the remaining of the session… We want either the Prime Minister or Home Minister to come to the House and give a categorical statement about the events which happened yesterday and the remedial steps that they are going to take for the future…”
The growth has come a day after safety breach on the new Parliament constructing when 4 folks — two of them jumped from the Lok Sabha chamber and sprayed yellow-coloured fuel making a ruckus whereas MPs had been talking in the course of the zero-hour and two others who protested, raised slogans outdoors the constructing.
