Chhattisgarh Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma stated there could be no liquor ban in Bastar as long as he’s alive. In a viral video, he’s seen supporting the ingesting behavior in Bastar.
“I will never allow liquor prohibition in Bastar. Drinking alcohol makes a man strong, but drinking too much may kill. It is like medicine and it should be taken in the right proportion,” he added.
He claimed that in overseas 100% individuals drink alcohol and right here (Bastar), 90 % individuals drink. “Those who are demanding the ban don’t know it is a medicine for the labourers. If they do not drink, they will not be able to do heavy works,” the minister added.

Lakhma asserted even when the liquor ban occurs in Chhattisgarh, it is not going to be relevant in Bastar, until he’s alive.
He stated, ‘Liquor is used in worship to all of the deities and it’s consumed by everybody in Bastar. Without it, we don’t journey, we don’t worship.”
Either the federal government in Delhi (Centre) or the state, nobody can impose a ban on liquor in Bastar.
