New Delhi: Sunil Bansal, who headed the dairy enterprise of Yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved, died of COVID-19, the corporate mentioned on Monday, including it had no “role in his allopathic treatment.” Bansal, 57, who was Vice President in the Dairy Division of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, died on May 19.
A specialist in dairy science, Bansal joined Patanjali’s dairy enterprise in January 2018 when the corporate introduced its plans to promote packaged cow milk and different milk-based merchandise together with curd, buttermilk and cheese.
“He died of COVID-19 on May 19 in Rajasthan Hospital, Jaipur the place his spouse is a really senior well being official of Government of Rajasthan,” the Haridwar-based agency mentioned in a press release.
His loss of life comes at a time when Ramdev is courting controversy over his feedback about allopathic medicines and COVID-19. The assertion too mirrored that.
“Patanjali didn’t have any role in his allopathic treatment which was largely coordinated by his wife,” it mentioned. “However we were concerned and used to ask for his well-being from his wife.”
On Sunday, Ramdev was compelled to withdraw a press release made in a viral video clip in which he’s heard saying that “lakhs have died from taking allopathic medicines for COVID-19.”
He can also be heard questioning a number of the medicines getting used to deal with the illness.
The assertion was met with vociferous protests from the medical doctors’ affiliation, following which Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan requested him to withdraw the “extremely unfortunate” assertion.
“It’s very unfortunate to have lost a young energetic colleague who was taskmaster,” Patanjali mentioned in the assertion on Bansal’s loss of life.
