Aurangabad: All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday mentioned tall claims are being made that Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is required to show a lesson to Muslims however in actuality, the widespread legislation will have an effect on non-Muslims which isn’t good for India. Speaking at a gathering organised by AIMIM in Aurangabad metropolis of Maharashtra, the Hyderabad MP mentioned non-Muslims will undergo greater than Muslims if UCC is launched as it’s going to have an effect on their private legal guidelines.
“It is said that Muslims will be taught a lesson through UCC but this common law is not good for the entire country. Rather than Muslims, non-Muslims will be at a loss (if UCC is introduced). This is being done to erase our identities in the country,” Owaisi claimed.

He claimed non-Muslims will lose their customary rights which they at present get pleasure from by private legal guidelines.
“Sikhs, Christians, and adivasis will also lose many of their rights. A joint Hindu business family gets a tax rebate. In the year 2015, the amount of rebate stood at Rs 3,065 crore. Hindus will be deprived of this rebate if the UCC is brought in,” Owaisi added.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah says north-eastern states shall be saved out of the purview of UCC however the authorities would not say what they are going to do for adivasis residing in different elements of the nation, he mentioned.
Owaisi requested Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Sinde, Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and (Ajit) Pawar to tell about UCC to tribals within the state and see their response.

“Such people sit in Delhi and claim there is no loss because of UCC,” the AIMIM chief added.
Owaisi mentioned there was no report of polygamy amongst Muslims, an argument given in favour of UCC.
Local MP Jaleel mentioned the UCC shouldn’t be wanted and accused the federal government of dividing folks alongside religions and castes and raking up points like triple talaq, hijab, CAA and so forth for elections.
He claimed even the Law Commission is of the view that there isn’t a want for UCC.
“I think the government threatens the commission saying if you don’t want UCC, we don’t want Law Commission. Because we (government) are law as well as Commission,” Jaleel alleged.
