New Delhi: North Delhi Mayor Jai Prakash cleared the proposal throughout a gathering on Tuesday which makes it necessary for eating places and retailers to show whether or not the meat being bought or served is halal or jhatka.
North Delhi has numerous eateries, eating places and road facet retailers promoting or serving non-vegetarian meals objects, outstanding locations being Chandni Chowk, Daryaganj and Kashmere Gate.
The proposal was not too long ago moved by the Standing Committee of the NDMC.

According to PTI, Jai Prakash mentioned “So, restaurants and shops in north Delhi will now have to mandatorily display whether the meat being sold or served is halal or jhatka”.
An analogous proposal was cleared by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation late January stating that eating places and retailers in markets in areas together with Defence Colony, Amar Colony, Sarojini Nagar, South Extension, and INA which promote non-vegetarian objects must “display clearly and visibly” whether or not they’re serving halal or jhatka.
“Jhatka” technique is one through which an animal is slaughtered in a single go, whereas within the ”halal” technique, an animal is allowed to die after chopping a vein.
