Around 21 police personnel received injured during BJP Yuva Morcha protest in Bhubaneswar, stated a police official on Wednesday.
BJP Yuva Morcha held protest in Bhubaneswar in opposition to the Odisha authorities over former Health Minister Naba Das homicide case highlighting the deteriorating legislation and order scenario in the state on Tuesday.
Several Odisha police personnel and BJP supporters have been injured and automobiles of the cops have been broken as saffron celebration employees fought a pitched battle with the drive during a march to the Assembly.
Hundreds of activists underneath the banner of BJP Yuva Morcha staged the agitation demanding a CBI probe into the homicide case of well being minister Naba Kishore Das and the alleged deteriorating legislation and order scenario.
The Mahatma Gandhi Marg in entrance of the Assembly constructing became a battlefield when the police stopped the BJP activists who broke barricades erected by the drive. Many have been seen scaling the barricades.
The police claimed that the agitators hurled water bottles, eggs and stones on the cops who then used batons to disperse the gang.
Several of the safety personnel and political employees have been injured in the scuffle.
The official stated round 21 police personnel together with ACP Amitav Mohapatra suffered accidents in the melee. At least 5 police automobiles have been broken in the conflict, he added.
The police detained over 100 protesters and motion will likely be taken in opposition to them as per legislation, he stated.
DGP Sunil Bansal visited the Capital Hospital to fulfill the injured police officers.
In the Assembly, BJP MLAs created a ruckus over the incident as Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra demanded a ruling from the chair on the alleged police extra on the celebration activists.
BJP state president Samir Mohanty, BJP Yuva Morcha president Irasish Acharya, celebration MLAs and different senior leaders participated in the march demanding a CBI investigation into the minister’s homicide.
