Boxer Shakti Mazumdar handed away after struggling a coronary heart assault aged 90.

Boxer Shakti Mazumdar, who was a member of the Indian contingent on the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games, handed away after struggling a heart-attack at his dwelling within the Ballygunge space of Kolkata on Friday. He was 90.
A flyweight boxer, Mazumdar had obtained a walkover from Vietnam’s Nguyen Van Cua, however later misplaced to South Korea’s Han Soo-ann.
Mazumdar was a product of Ajoy Sinha’s Ballygunge (*90*) Institute and gained two nationwide titles in flyweight class regardless of the game being dominated by military pugilists then.
“With profound grief, we remorse to tell you that Shakti Mazumdar handed away at Ballygunge, West Bengal, right now,” Asit Banerjee, president, Bengal Amateur Boxing Federation (BABF), said in a statement.
