Reigning Olympic champion shuttler Carolina Marin on Friday suffered a freak knee harm throughout coaching, leaving her uncertain for the Tokyo Games which begins on July 23.

Reigning Olympic champion shuttler Carolina Marin on Friday suffered a freak knee harm throughout coaching, leaving her uncertain for the Tokyo Games which begins within the Japanese capital on July 23. According to Spanish sports activities media Marca, the Rio 2016 Games ladies’s singles champion felt knee discomfort throughout coaching. As per the report, the docs performed various assessments on Marin, after which they got here to the conclusion that the champion shuttler suffered an anterior cruciate ligament harm on her left knee. Marin sounded constructive after the setback and stated in an announcement on social media that she was “in the perfect fingers”.
“Today I suffered some discomfort during training that caused me to stop training,” she stated in an announcement. “After the primary assessments (we had) achieved, the docs have realised that it’s the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee that’s affected.
“Soon I will provide you with extra data. I’m in the perfect fingers, all the time. Whatever occurs, #PuedoPorquePiensoQuePuedo (#ICanBecauseIThinkICan).” Marin had earlier suffered an ACL injury on her right knee in January 2019, which kept her out of the courts until September of that year. She has played in five tournaments so far this year, reaching the finals in five of them and winning four.
