P.T.Usha to Receive Central University of Kerala’s First Ever Honorary Doctorate

The first-ever honorary doctorate of the Central University of Kerala will go to legendary Indian athlete popularly referred to as ‘Payyoli Express’- P.T.Usha.

The determination to honour her was taken for her exemplary contribution to sports activities.

Fifty-eight-year-old Usha, a former Indian Railway official, is now a nominated member of the Upper House.

In December final 12 months, she was elected unopposed because the president of the Indian Olympic Association.

In her distinguished profession on the sphere, she has received 33 medals, together with 19 gold, within the Asian Games and Asian Championship.

She was the primary Indian athlete to win medals in 4 consecutive Asian Games and in addition received six medals, together with 5 gold within the Jakarta Asian Athletic Meet in 1985.

After she hung up her boots, the athlete based the Usha School of Athletics in Kinaloor at her house district-Kozhikode and her wards by now have received 79 worldwide medals for the nation.

The Central University is now looking for a handy date to organise the perform to honour Usha.
