New Delhi: Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla on Wednesday obtained the Padma Bhushan from President Droupadi Murmu for his contribution to the sphere of commerce and business.
After conferred with the best civilian Awards of the nation, Birla stated thanked President Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stated that this award is a recognition of the longitudinal impression of the Aditya Birla Group in enriching lives and in demonstrating by way of actions that enterprise is a power for good.
“The spirit of nation-building and trusteeship has guided my family across generations. And so, to receive this national honour is indeed humbling. I thank the Honourable President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu and the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, for this prestigious honour which I accept on behalf of my 140,000 colleagues from 36 countries. This award is a recognition of the longitudinal impact of the Aditya Birla Group— in enriching lives and in demonstrating through actions that business is a force for good,” stated Birla in an announcement.
Padma award within the Birla Family
Kumar Mangalam Birla is the fourth recipient of the Padma award within the Birla Family. His mom Rajshree Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan award, prolonged Birla member of the family Ganga Prasad Birla was awarded the Padma Bhushan award and his nice grandfather Ghanshyam Das Birla was awarded the Padma Vibhushan award.
Kumar Mangalam Birla is the chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, which operates in 36 international locations throughout six continents. He is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA diploma from London Business School.
