Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the newly constructed Parliament building to the Nation on May 28, 2023.
On Thursday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to inaugurate the New Parliament Building.
The development of the New Parliament Building is full now and the new building symbolises the spirit of self–reliant India, stated Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The new Parliament building can comfortably seat 888 members within the Lok Sabha chamber and 300 within the Rajya Sabha chamber, it stated.
In case of a joint sitting of each the Houses, a complete of 1,280 members could be accommodated within the Lok Sabha chamber.
The prime minister had laid the inspiration stone of the new parliament building on December 10, 2020.
The new building has been inbuilt document time with high quality development, the Lok Sabha Secretariat stated.
The current building of the Parliament was accomplished in 1927, and is now 96 years previous.
Over the years, the previous building was discovered to be insufficient for current day necessities.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had handed resolutions urging the federal government to assemble a new building for the Parliament.
