The protest by part-time specialist teachers of the Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK) looking for a rise in honorarium was known as off on Thursday.

This follows an assurance of honorarium hike to ₹13,400 and ₹1,608 as EPF (employer contribution) following talks with Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty.

At current, specialist teachers obtain ₹10,000 as honorarium and 12% of that as EPF.

The hike will effected with retrospective impact from November 2022.

Specialist teachers shall be eligible for depart and different advantages relevant to part-time staff.

They should work in two faculties for 3 days every week. They may also must attend plan conferences at Samagra’s block useful resource centres involved one Saturday a month.

A choice on different points confronted by specialist teachers shall be taken on the premise of a report back to be submitted by the General Education Principal Secretary inside three months, a press release from the Minister’s workplace stated.
